Post-Pandemic Business Tune-Up!

Sometimes, stating the obvious is just what your customers need to make a no-brainer choice to buy from you instead of your competition!

Sometimes, stating the obvious is just what your customers need to make a no-brainer choice to buy from you instead of your competition!

With each new day, the light at the end of the tunnel grows brighter. Vaccination rates are climbing, Ontario is slowly moving into new stages of reopening and businesses are getting back to a new normal.

But is your business ready for post-COVID-19?

As most of us already assumed, Deloitte Insights reports consumer spending drastically changed during the pandemic; people were buying more home goods and spending far less on services, recreation, entertainment and travel businesses, many of which had to close, at least temporarily.

But with many people getting back to work and more businesses opening up, Deloitte says services spending is starting to pick up again and, optimistically, Personal Consumption Expenditure (PCE) is likely to increase by 7.6% in 2021 and 3.9% in 2022, according to Deloitte’s latest United States Economic Forecast.

What does that mean for your business?

Obviously, you want people to spend money with you and not somewhere else. Your regular customers will come back, of course, but you also want to attract new. So, you need your business to put its best foot forward to give a professional first impression; that might mean an updated, professional voicemail system, it could mean creating explainer videos to tell people about your product(s) or service(s), creating a commercial, new video/audio learning materials or a “welcome back” video for your YouTube channel.

Some of these things may seem completely obvious to you, of course, but sometimes explaining the obvious to people searching for information makes the difference between an easy transaction and no transaction. If your information is easier to find than your competitors, who do you think is most likely to get the sale? Perhaps you run things a little differently post-covid (you may offer more pick-up, delivery or online options etc.), that kind of thing is easy to explain and, quite frankly, can never be too obvious for your customers and clients.

Many businesses will have a mix of in-person and work-from-home options post-pandemic, which means some employees may be doing e-Learning or students may choose virtual learning options. That means you might have an opportunity to reach new clients by creating professional virtual learning options for them.

In any case, the world will be slightly different but people are ready to be out and about, so your business needs to be ready to give them the most up-to-date information they’re seeking, in the most professional way, so they choose to spend money with you and not your competition.
